Airport - Kandy

Upon arrival in Colombo airport your driver/guide will welcome you and immediately transfer into Kandy,the central part of Sri Lanka A lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens and considered to be one of Sri Lanka's major tourist town with plenty of attractions. The trip is fairly long being around 3-4 hours. Arrive in Kandy check-in to the Hotel and have a good rest. Enjoy your dinner and have a peaceful overnight at the hotel.

Kandy - Pinnawela - Kandy Temple

After breakfast, excursion to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in time to witness bathing and bottle feeding of elephants. Pinnawela orphanage is situated northwest of the town Kegalle, halfway between the present capital of Colombo and the ancient royal residence Kandy in the hills of central Sri Lanka. Return to Kandy and indulge in a city tour and visit a popular gem mining factory together with visits to the popular market places where vegetables and fruits from other parts of the country are distributed.

Thereafter, the you will enjoy the Cultural show and later visit the Temple of the Tooth popularly known as the "Dalada Mawa. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy, Embekke Temple in Kandy, Hindu Shrines in Kandy, Old Royal Palace in Kandy, Archaeological Museums in Kandy, upper lake drive and market square. The Temple of the Tooth in Kandy is the ultimate place of great historic and cultural value. Enjoy the famous Kandy cultural dance that skills of the traditional drums and dance is all very much entertaining. On completion, return to the Chaaya Citadel Hotel in Kandy for your dinner and overnight accommodation.

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

en-route do not miss to visit the Ramboda waterfalls. When you came to Ramboda, please stop your vehicle and go along the footpath at down side of the Ramboda bridge. This fall has two main drops and sometimes visitors miss the main waterfall and visit another one. Ramboda falls is at downside of the bridge. Sri Lanka's premier hill resort with a fine bracing mountain climate, Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country, producing some of the world's best tea. The mountain slopes and valleys are a carpet of velvety green tea plantations. Labukale Tea Factory/Tea Centre, surrounded by the lush green tea plantations of Labukale estate enroute to Nuwara Eliya is a warm and welcome sight for travelers. It is a scenic route from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya with tea plantations along the way. Nuwara Eliya at an elevation of 1890 meters above the sea level, the highest city in Sri Lanka seems like a piece of English district. Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, Hakgala Botanical Gardens in Nuwara Eliya, Gregory Lake Nuwara Eliya and Victoria Park at Nuwara Eliya are other highlights.

Arrive in Nuwara Eliya check-in to the Grand Hotel and have a good rest. Stroll through the town in the evening (of course! depending on your mood), have dinner and peaceful nights at the hotel.

Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains

Horton Plains - Sri Lanka's highest plateau 7200 ft above sea level in the central mountain country. This 'Fen" is a very scenic region with an astounding variety of scenery from mountains to grasslands, from marshes to trout streams. Sri Lanka's best flavored high grown teas are grown in the surrounding areas. Spectacular view from 'Worlds End' where the plateau plunges a thousand feet in a straight sheer drop. One of the main attractions is "Worlds End" where spectacular views are available as the plateau plunges 2900ft in a vertical drop. Situated about 5km from the starting point is a gentle 2-4hour walk to reach "Worlds End". On your return from Horton Plains, you may visit the New Zealand Cattle Farm. The farm maintains a very clean operation to hygiene standards set by the Swedish Alfa Laval Company. Their primary livestock are purebred Frisian cows, although they also have a small herd of goats and rabbits. The cattle requires considerable attention and a regimented diet with sterilized drinking water to ensure milk quality. If you get there around 4pm, you could see the cows milked at their automatic milking parlors.

n the afternoon, you may visit Ella a beautiful small village located high in the hill country of Sri Lanka. Ella has some of the best views in Sri Lanka, but it is highly underrated as a tourist destination. The Ravana Falls, Ravana cave and the temple are popular sightseeing attractions in Ella where the legendary Ravana left Sita for safe-keeping. Demodara Railway Station, 9 Arch Stone Bridge and Ella Rock are other interesting sightseeing when touring the hill country of Sri Lanka.

Bandarawela - Kitulgala - Overnight in Colombo

Breakfast at the hotel. Later, check out on time and proceed to Colombo or Uswetakeiyawa a hotel close to the Airport. En route, enjoy a comfort stop at Kitulgala - the location where the film location of David Lean's Oscar winning masterpiece "The Bridge on the River Kwai" was filmed

Thereafter transfer to Colombo (Deluxe Programme) or a nearby hotel close to the Airport in Uswetakeiyawa (Standard Programme)

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Colombo which takes about 5 hours trip. On arrival in Colombo check-in at the Colombo Hilton and have a good rest. Have dinner and peaceful night at the hote
